about

"Blast" is a bright, catchy track that laments a lover's betrayal with deceptively smiling vocals. The song is based on the earthbound heartbreak of astronaut Lisa Nowak, whose accomplishments as an engineer for NASA spacewalks and high naval rank were dashed by her heartache-inspired, 900-mile journey to confront her lover's lover. Bellowing saxophone illuminates the swell to desperation, bringing an unexpected perspective to an unforgettable story.

lyrics

You were the reason I came back to Earth
Making love, breaking promises to the whole wide world
Did you already forget I turned down the universe for us?

No one could touch me, but you loved a chase
Now it's me flying down the freeway
I'll save my questions for the end of the day
When I find you two I'll be okay

Blast, I wanna blast off
There's a pain in my heart
And it won't be enough until I dash it apart

I put myself in this impossible place
Just make it up
Taking stupid chances every day
You already know I'm the only one who has what it takes
I don't deserve to be replaced

Blast, I wanna blast off
There's a pain in my heart
And it won't be enough until I dash it apart

"Oh, just pick up the pieces"
You say it so easily
And she'll say something like,
"Please don't do this to me!"
But I'm giving you exactly what you said you need
You told me you needed space

Blast, I wanna blast off
There's a pain in my heart
And it won't be enough until I dash it apart

I put myself in this impossible place
